Good Deal – Tamanoi Sushinoko Rice Seasoning Mix 2.65 oz Sale @ Amazon
Amazon has Tamanoi Sushinoko 2.65 oz (pack of 20) on sale for $30.46, or $1.52 per pack in their Manager’s Special markdown section. Tamanoi Sushinoko is a fool-proof way to make sushi rice (vinegared rice) for sushi rolls or onigiri. It’s powdered vinegar with sugar and salt. You simply add the powder to your plain cooked rice and you get sushi rice! Using this product, your sushi rice doesn’t get overly wet from using regular liquid vinegar, and you don’t mess up sugar/salt proportions, etc. I’ve used this product, and have been very happy with it (be careful not to breath in the powdered vinegar – it’s very concentrated so it stings a bit!). The recommended usage by many is one pack per 4 cups (cups meaning size of cup that comes with your rice cooker) uncooked rice, but you can, of course, adjust for your own taste.
H-mart sells this for $3.99, and Pacific Mercantile sells it for $2.99, so the Amazon price is great! Small bottles of rice vinegar are around $3.99, so taking into consideration the hassle saved and the only small-ish savings I would have gotten from using regular vinegar, the sushinoko packs at $1.52 are worth it to me.
There are only two left at this discount price though, so if you want, hurry to order.
Amazon Grocery Deals May 2010… 50% Off Taco Bell, 40% Off PG Tips
Amazon has changed up their grocery deals for the month of May 2010.
The best values I see are 50% off Taco Bell products, and 40% off PG Tips tea.
Taco Bell seasoning packs work out to be about $.33 each after discounts. Good deal IMO, especially if you like this brand in particular.
Shipping is always FREE with subscribe and save orders (must use s&s to get full discount). Simply discontinue the subscription to the item after you place your order if you wish.

FREE – Kraft Cheesy Explosion Macaroni & Cheese

Keep an eye out for tearpad coupons for $.55/2 Kraft Cheesy Explosion Box Macaroni and Cheese 5.5 oz or Cups 2 oz [exp: 8/31]. I found mine at King Soopers (Kroger) yesterday.
The boxes are on sale at Albertsons this week for $.50 each, and Albertsons is multiplying coupon values this week as well. The coupon says “do not double”, but barcode starts with 5 – meaning these’ll typically double automatically at the register unless the cashier catches the writing and overrides the doubling to only give you face value (which they have every right to do). If your Albertsons cashier lets these coupons double up to $1, you can get two boxes FREE with every coupon!
Note: I have never had a problem with dnd/dnt-5 coupons being allowed to double even if it states “do not double” at King Soopers. Albertsons, however, has always been very picky, and very often does stop coupons from doubling if they say “do not double” in my experience. YMMV.

Christmas Rudolph Cocoa Cheap @ Amazon.com

What? Christmas was over months ago? That doesn’t stop me from snatching up cute Christmas goodies or enjoying a hot cuppa even when the weather’s heating up. Amazon has McSteven’s Rudolph’s Chocolate Cocoa 6.25 oz tins (pack of 3) on sale for $5.33 (from $15.25) or their Rudolph Chocolate Cocoa 14 oz tins (pack of 3) on sale for $6.06 (from $29.99).
I’m betting this stuff tastes better than the Swiss Miss 8-pack mixes I usually content myself with (bought for $.50 with coupon/sales), and at a price I’m very happy with. You get cute tins to use too once they’re emptied out!
You can try to save these for gift giving this coming holiday, but chances are the goods will expire before then, so get everyone to celebrate Christmas in July this year, or just enjoy it for yourself.
FREE – Prepaid T-Mobile To Go Phone (Comes With $25 Refill Card)
T-mobile.com is offering a free $25 refill card with the purchase of some of its prepaid phones. One of the phones (Motorola W233 Renew) is only $19.99, so with the free $25 refill, it’s like you’re making $5! If you prefer clamshell-type phones, the Samsung t139 is $29.99 – with a free $25 refill card, basically $5.
The Samsung t139 will actually be a money maker as well if you shop through the http://www.bing.com/cashback portal site (run by Microsoft) – simply search for “t-mobile”, and click on the link with the image for 35% cash back on your purchase.
Standard shipping is free. What a great deal for prepaid phone users!
FYI: The T-Mobile To Go Prepaid Phone Plan requires refills every three months. Once you reach $100 in refills accumulated over all time, any amount (as little as $10 refill) keeps your account active for a whole year.
